North Foster Farm

2026 Update

Time is passing quickly and the 2026 Farmer’s Market season will be here before we know it. In addition to our pasture-raised, non-GMO eggs, we’re excited to announce that we will be offering pasture-raised, non-GMO chicken. If you’ve never experienced pasture-raised chicken, you’re in for a surprise. It’s fantastic! If you’re old enough to remember chicken before it became a “manufactured” product, you probably know what I mean. Pasture-raised chicken tastes like chicken!

In addition to great taste, you get the health benefits of chicken that is moved to fresh grass daily, fed non-GMO grains, and never received antibiotics or hormones. If everything goes as planned, we hope to have whole chickens and cuts available for the start of our market season.

Our laying flock will be welcoming another group of new recruits in April to ensure we can continue to meet the growing demand for eggs. We figure that the new employees will be providing us with great tasting eggs by mid to late May. Until then, the experienced employees will do their best to keep up with demand.

2026 will be a year of growth here at North Foster Farm. More layers, broiler chickens and with them, more pasture. We’ll be working hard to clear additional space to ensure we have enough grass to keep our flavorful flock happy.

As always, we can’t say “thank you” enough.

Changes to our schedule and periodic updates will be posted on our website. If you’d like to receive these occasional updates in an email, please join our email list. Sign up by sending a message to sales@northfosterfarm.com with your email address.

We love eggs.

Over the years we’ve purchased all kinds of eggs from the store: inexpensive eggs, eggs called “free-range”, eggs called “cage-free”, and more recently, eggs called “pasture-raised”. Some of these labels sound better than others, but we eventually learned the truth about each of these categories. In fact, pasture-raised eggs stand head and shoulders above the rest.

At North Foster Farm, we proudly produce pasture-raised eggs. At night, our hens are kept inside a secure mobile coop. During the day, they spend their time on grass, enjoying fresh air, sunshine, and abundant access to clean water and fresh feed. They roam freely in a safe enclosure and enjoy grasses and insects—just like chickens are supposed to.

After about a week, when the “good stuff” begins to dwindle, we move them (coop and all) to a new spot in the pasture to start fresh. As a result, we have happy, healthy hens that lay healthy, delicious eggs.
